Gateway Mutual Aid Group
Gateway Mutual Aid Group
The Gateway Mutual Aid Group make decisions on emergency practices and procedures within the Pinkenba commercial and residential area. Businesses situated within the Gateway precinct are invited to participate in the Gateway Mutual Aid Group to better understand the repercussions and steps involved in the event of a large scale emergency.

The Mutual Aid Group consists of representatives from the majority of businesses in the area along with Queensland Police Service, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Government representatives from Workplace Health and Safety and Brisbane City Council. Delegates attend to discuss and promote systems for preventing incidents and mitigating potential impact to life, property, the community and the environment in the event of an emergency, extending to the impacts on individual business operations.

We also hold annual group emergency exercises. Joining these exercises will not only increase their effectiveness, but assist in meeting your individual government or company compliance requirements.

The GMAG also provides:
• Opportunity to discuss any concerns directly with governing agencies and/or neighbouring businesses in a safe, friendly environment
• DGSM compliance in communicating emergency plans to neighbouring industry and emergency services;  and emergency procedures for the community through the GMAG Safety and Environment Community Calendar
• Access to equipment & technical resources including an offsite incident command centre
• Contact information through the GMAG CRM  via a members only portal

We continue to develop strategies to increase the safety of businesses along Tingira Street, Pinkenba. Currently by lobbying government for an emergency access road across Boggy Creek.

We encourage you to join other leaders in emergency response and look forward to the additional insight into challenges and issues your business can provide.

Our meetings are held quarterly at various sites, please contact Sandie for details. We also encourage you to contact current members for further information.
